Can NJ lottery winners remain anonymous? ›

Lottery winners can remain anonymous in New Jersey, under a law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy in 2020. New Jersey is one of 18 states where lottery winners can remain anonymous.

First, sign the back of your ticket immediately. Then take it to any New Jersey Lottery Retailer for validation. If your prize is worth $599.99 or less, you can receive your winnings in cash at any New Jersey Lottery Retailer. If your prize is over $599.99, you must file a claim form with the New Jersey Lottery.
