Resharing this great post. Thank you David Cross for being a strong ally voice to so many of us in the antitrust and legal worlds. It is so painful for me, and I am sure very many others, every time I hear or see incessant and unnecessary hair comments. Instead of focusing on what women say, do, or accomplish, people are weirdly obsessed with commenting on women's hair. ALL THE TIME. Simple compliments like your "hair looks nice today" are one thing but, in my experience, mentions of hair beyond that are typically unnecessary, often loaded, distracting, and frequently stress-inducing to the hair bearer for many reasons others may not know or understand. For me it was the constant hair talk by those (even well-meaning or unknowing) who just had to comment on my hair as I worked through chemo, donning a wig, losing ALL of my hair down to the last painful eyelash, or not feeling like my true myself for 3 years while it grew back. While I was so fortunate to not ever be "sick" from actual cancer, and had no evidence of disease even when I lost my hair to preventative (adjuvant) chemo, the hair loss and regrowth was probably the most emotionally painful part of my cancer battle. For other people there are so many other painful experiences hair comments trigger. I can't speak for them, but I feel for them. I feel for Simone and Princess Catherine and every other person who had to keep performing, smiling, or faked a thank you when the hair dig or "compliment" punched them in the gut. Just because we are strong women, doesn't mean it is easy. All this goes double for talking about hair in the workplace...JUST DON'T...even if you think it's a compliment, it probably isn't. Find something else to talk about to connect with others. Ideas = all the non-hair ways that person is awesome, sports, kids, pets, weather, office tech problems (PSA - suggest never asking anyone when the baby is due either!). Can we just have NO MO' HAIR TALK? This is my hope. Weekend rant over...back to watching the Olympics while not thinking about anyone's hair.

### The American Swimmers’ Scandal: Lochtegate UnveiledHey folks,Here's the lowdown on one of the most cringe-worthy Olympic scandals from Rio 2016:1. **The Claim**: During the Rio Games, American swimmer Ryan Lochte and his crew claimed they’d been robbed at gunpoint. Sounds intense, right? But hold on, the story gets wild.2. **The Real Deal**: Turns out, the swimmers—who might have had a few too many drinks—were actually caught up in a mess involving vandalism at a gas station and urinating in public. When security guards confronted them, the athletes paid them off to cover the damages.3. **Lochtegate**: The scandal, dubbed “Lochtegate,” blew up when it was revealed that Lochte and company weren’t exactly telling the truth. Lochte got hit with charges for false reporting and was slapped with a ten-month suspension by the U.S. Olympic Committee. He was also banned from their training centers.4. **New Twists**: Later on, a USA Today investigation hinted that maybe the swimmers weren’t as guilty as first thought and could’ve been coerced into paying off the guards. So, was it a case of mistaken identity or something more shady?5. **The Fallout**: Lochtegate left a mark on the Olympics, reminding everyone how quickly things can spiral out of control—and how a wild night can turn into a massive scandal.Catch you later with more Olympic drama!#Lochtegate #Rio2016 #OlympicScandal #RyanLochte #SwimmerDrama #FalseReport #SportsControversy #Vandalism #SecurityGate

Product is a great way to tell stories. This Wolverhampton Wanderers collection is a great example of utilizing a unique product to create energy, inspire a community, and tell great stories. Arsenal F.C wearing all white kits in the FA Cup to draw attention to knife crime. Manchester City Football Club wearing a unique Lunar New Year kit and font. The National Hockey League (NHL) rolled out unique uniforms for their Stadium series. Products, especially kits or uniforms, are amazing vehicles to express a narrative and create deep connections with fans and communities.Sports Business Classes - - What are some examples of uniforms that drive enhanced storytelling for a fanbase? Think of some of the common examples - - like the National Football League (NFL) wearing pink for Breast Cancer Awareness or camouflage for Salute to Service - what are the risks? What happens when the unique becomes the norm? How do you prevent disruption from losing impact? Take your local team or organization, lay out a proposal to disrupt their current uniform approach with an energy moment to tell a story that will connect to the local fanbase or community. The Power of BeliefThe Olympics have always been about fair play and human endeavour. The IOC’s “Believe in Sport” campaign reignites that spirit (https://lnkd.in/gQs3vsTt).This is more than just education on doping or match-fixing. It’s about athletes being champions of integrity, the guardians of the very sport that inspires them.By believing in sport we believe in dedication, resilience and excellence without shortcuts. Here’s why:A level playing field is where athletes can be themselves.Fairness is the bedrock of trust and respect in sport.Educated athletes are the best defence against competition manipulation.Let’s all be champions of “Believe in Sport”. #BelieveInSport #Olympics #FairPlay #SportsIntegrity

Pan Zhanle's interview before he left for Paris is finally being broadcasted. He requested for it not to be released during the interview. He had his reason. But since he has won, there is no reason for it not to be broadcasted anymore. Good tactic! He broke 46 seconds by swimming 45.92 seconds in the 4x100m relay! It's almost impossible for anyone to break 45 seconds in the next few decades anymore. That would be really "not humanly possible" unless of course, you are Pan Zhanle! Now if you want to look as athletic as Pan Zhanle or King Arthur, you need to swim like Pan Zhanle or King Arthur. It is humanly possible to do it. The question is whether it is also humanely possible? If you think that it is neither humanly possible nor humanely possible to swim like Pan Zhanle or King Arthur, then the second-best option is to get liposuction done by King Arthur! Get your liposuction done at special "Not humanly possible?" price! Offer only valid till the closing ceremony of Paris Summer Olympics. For more information, Google: "King Arthur not humanly possible campaign".Or click here: https://lnkd.in/gAU2mb9Zhttps://lnkd.in/g7rDH6Gx
World record holder Pan Zhanle: Don't broadcast this before the 2024 Paris Olympics, Please!!! https://www.youtube.com/

Irish Rugby..Watching the Glasgow Warriors last night and this article it raised some questions and the need for some home truths-“Irish rugby has everything in place to be the most aligned rugby system in the world, yet there are clear signs that it’s been sorely lacking over the past four-year cycle and a lack of depth in key positions was obvious in Paris last October“There are then questions around the IRFU’s crude commercialisation of the game alienating long standing supporters. Over hyping. Terrible athmosphere. It’s attitude to a range of issues from alcohol, concussion, gender and human rights. Does Irish rugby really challenge under performance on and off the field which should come with its new found commercialisation or is it still an old boys club albeit one the Irish tax payer subsidies? It’s true there’s excessive demand on tired players and poorer rugby but the golden period we have enjoyed in recent years may not last without the type of serious self reflection which preceded the professional era and which the IRFU is to be applauded for. Rugby is about more than money. Glasgow’s victory, a team with far less investment and hype than Leinster, really brought this out.

This is such a GOOD campaign for Megan Thee Stallion to be a partner in! Anyone who knows her knows that the Ah-lympics (with an AH 👅) is SO on brand for her. It also speaks to the younger generation and offers just the right amount of silly/goofy. What do you think? Is it better to take a funny approach or something more serious for the Olympics? #olympics2024 #brandpartnerships #marketingcampaigns

🌟 British long jumper Jazmin Sawyers shares her journey of "grieving" her chance to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics after rupturing her Achilles and the importance for athletes to discover an identity beyond sports. Her story perfectly illustrates the profound impact of athletes' identity loss on their well-being. 👉 This resonates deeply with our FWO project and the PhD project of Korneel Schepers, where we focus on supporting elite athletes throughout transitions, guiding and empowering them through the process of identity change. 🌱 For more information 👉 https://lnkd.in/e2w5-MHc📽 Check out Jazmin's inspiring interview here: https://lnkd.in/emUnMKra📢 "It was the emotional pain that hit me the hardest. I'm trying to push the message that it is so important to have an identity outside sport, outside of just being an athlete. Because if that's taken away from you by something out of your control, like a freak injury, you still need to know who you are and be confident that you have value and that you have a lot to offer. Because if you feel the only thing you have is being an athlete and that's gone, then you feel you have nothing. So I think cultivating that identity outside sport, when you're healthy, is really important, so you have those other aspects of yourself to lean on if sport isn't an option anymore." 🌟🤝 In collaboration with Research Foundation Flanders - FWO, Sport Vlaanderen, Filip Boen, Niklas Steffens, Tegan Cruwys, Alex Haslam, & Catherine Haslam
